Congratulations on the garden plot! Our favorite book is Golden Gate Gardening by Pam Pierce. After 10 years we still refer to it. Lots of good info specific to sf region.

If you are not already aware of The Art of Doing Stuff, Karen Bertelsen has a lot of gardening information (community and home) on her site. She also does a lot of other Stuff.

Hi Heidi, Always love your favorites lists. How exciting that you got a garden plot! I've been vegetable gardening for 5+ years and my bible is Barbara Damrosch's The Garden Primer: https://www.amazon.com/Garden-Primer-Second-Barbara-Damrosch/dp/0761122753. It's an absolute classic, really accessible and uses only organic methods. Emily

A favorite gardening book: The Poetics of Gardens (The MIT Press) by Charles W. Moore, William J. Mitchell, and William Turnbull Jr.

We are loving Chernobyl! My husband didn't know much about the disaster and has been researching obsessively since beginning the series. It's excellent.
