My Ten Most Popular Recipes of 2017 Recipe

It's always a bit of a surprise. Here are the top recipes from 101 Cookbooks for 2017.

My Ten Most Popular Recipes of 2017

I never really know how a recipe is going to be received until I put it out into the world. Some pop unexpectedly, finding their way into your kitchens in no time. Others are destined to quietly hang out in the archives without much fanfare. Either way, it's always fun for me to look back on the previous year and make a list of the most popular recipes. It helps me understand what is resonating with you, and it helps me plan for the year to come. There were a few surprises in here (tortillas!), and some no-brainers, like the Last Minute Red Lasagna. Taking a moment like this also gives me a chance to ask what you'd like to see more of in 2018? A good number of you were interested in healthful, vegetarian Instant Pot recipes, that was part of what inspired me to get one and start playing around (curiously fun and surprising!). What else are you excited about? Or what are you already seeing here, that you'd like to see more of. Many thanks in advance. I've said it a hundred times, but the most inspiring part of having this site is seeing the recipes make the jump to you. xx! -h

Hi Heidi, I've been following your site for... over 8 years now? :O I think you've helped me to find a cooking style that works for me -- creative and unafraid to play with different flavors, but also not too fussy and complicated. Thank you!! I have learned a lot from you as a cook. I can't say that I often follow your recipes (or any recipes) exactly, but I love the flexibility that your recipes offer. That's what I appreciate most -- that you will post something that is a good, unique idea, and I can work off of it with the ingredients I have available. I would appreciate more unusual new recipes and uncommon ingredients to try! Thanks again :)

HS: Thanks Jennifer! Noted! And thanks for the nice comment (8 years! :) xx!

My contribution to Christmas 2017 yesterday (where is it Summer) was the wholegrain rice salad with cherries which I have made every year since I bought the Super Natural Every Day book. Other stand out staples are the stuffed pasta shells, the wild rice casserole, the baked porridge, sparkly ginger cookies and the Summer linguine. That cookbook gets a workout all seasons. Thanks

HS: xo Elizabeth! Thanks for the nice note.

I have been your fan for at least 5 years and I loved your posts about travel and most, your favorite things posts because we seem to have the same taste in books, movies, programs. Since this website has changed, I cannot locate old posts. Were they completely removed? Are you planning to have those type of posts in the future? Thank you, Heidi!

HS: Thanks Tatyana, and yes! You can find them through search - i.e. "tokyo" "favorites"....but I'll make a note to figure out a better way to integrate them into the main nav. Thanks for your patience! - h
